CMA and the Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago Join Forces

The Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago and CMA presented a free joint concert November 20. The program entitled "My Sister's Keeper: Dunbar Edition", featured the music of African American women composers Florence Price, Betty Jackson King, Zenobia Powell Perry, and more. The My Sister's Keeper project was conceived in 2018 by a team of performing scholars as an exploration of African American women composers through the lens of African American women musicians.  Drs. Minneta Daniel-Cox, Alexis Davis-Hazell, Marcia Porter and Rosaln Wright Ford thrilled the audience with their soaring soprano vocals.

Thank you so much for your support.

We are seeking your financial support to assist us in continuing our mission of preserving and promoting the music of Black composers, giving artists of color a platform, providing scholarships to music students, sending our collegiate members to regional and national conventions and providing free programing to the public. CMA is a 501(c)3 non profit charitable organization and your generous donations are tax deductible.

All donors will be listed on the sponsorship page of the program.
